I found sometimes to get it close to clean make sure its cold and soak it with plain old soap and water but dont let it dry out. It's kinda like when you leave dishes in the sink as you have to soak them. Then you can use gunk or whatever and simple green does some wierd stuff from what I have seen. Don't submerge it just get a spray bottle and fill it with soap and water. Old tooth brushes work great as they wont dull anything that needs to be shinny. Oh and dont forget alot of elbow grease. Some do it other ways but I have never hurt anything with soap and water.

S100 bike cleaner is super concentrated and cleans very well. Same as soap, don't let it dry out.

After you use any or all of the above, Windex. It's the final step that leaves it squeaky clean before buffing or sealing.
