The original was Nylon so it doesn't gouge the piece it contacts. The round part was made with a slow taper, so if you forced the throttle closed, it would release as you rotated. But the basic idea of a feature to lock the twist grip is against my idea of self preservation.

Jim C., Iron's post about just taping the handle will work fine. When last synced, I put one hand on the twist grip and used the other to check three pieces of welding rod. LC's idea of using the adjuster might be the best one. I'll let you know next time I sync mine.

Your original piece ... or my original piece ....

This is what I found in mine ... only broken in two and laying in the bottom ...

I've come to learn that there are few "absolutes" with these things ... and besides, the difference could be the model and/or year ... or the mood Kawasaki was in that day.

Oh, I'm sorry.
I thought this was the board where anything can be fixed

You mean like this ?? ;)
Anything CAN be fixed ... given the proper time ... and MONEY

I used a piece of banding stock for the "U" piece ... and it works. Although I'll probably never use it ...

Perfect; exactly what I was looking for
I use it in the winter to keep the thing running as it won't idle when really cold
Thank you
