Hey Ric,
You know the drill.
Get married (20 years for me), split up, loose A LOT of money, work like a dog / abandon your bike projects, slowly get your head screwed back on, re-enter the real world again.

J&J, We're taking WAY below the top of the plates; when I get back from vacation with the kids, I'll try some distilled water and report back.

You might want to put a few bucks aside...

Looks like the wiring harness is about to be cut; that Werker looks really good about now.

Did you guys but the special AGM charger or use your standard lead acid trickle charger in moderation?; haven't found a difinitive answer on the interweb about this

I use an AGM charger if I use anything other than the H2 to charge it. My H2's regulator is set at 13.7 Volts. If you check your regulator's output voltage and it's much higher than that, you should put something in the line like some series diodes. They'll drop about 0.65 Volts each. Some guys have had good luck without doing this... again, "your mileage...".

I've had 2 in my S3, first one lasted 3 years, changed it out for another, 2nd is on it's 2nd year now. I did nothing but ride the bike as usual, no charger or anything, then in the winter trickle charge it here and there. Best battery I've ever used in the bike. All the ones I have now are AGM....and no acid stains on the exhaust.
