So I bought a new starter cable from Repro graphics. At first I thought they sent me the throttle cable instead but this one only has the three individual cables. The end that attaches to the thumb lever is wrong. I wonder if they messed up building the cable and put the throttle end on instead?

Irritating. I was putting it in a local show this weekend.

My '72 H2 uses the kind they sent you. What triple did you order it for?

I wonder if your starter lever assembly is not the original.

Check out the H1 parts manual on the resource site. '69-'72 is the kind they shipped you. '73-'76 shows the kind you need, part number 54017-053.

That sucks. The fitment they list is wrong as the starter cables for '72 H1 is a right hand H2 style.

Did the old one break at the top? If not you could combine the old and new..

Thanks Zamby, I already "fixed" the old one and put it back on. It will work for a while while I figure this out. I just hate to go thru the hassle of taking off the tank and putting on the same old junky cable. It looks like the repro catalog is wrong but maybe they have the correct one. I'll email them tomorrow. I appreciate the offer.

Ok apparently their supplier gave them some bad info. These will fit the H1B and perhaps some other models but not the H1E.
Repro Graphics was good about it. Told me to keep it and refunded my money.
Can anyone use this?
