Does anyone have the length for the drag style "optional" handlebars? I would like to duplicate the Kawasaki bars if possible. Have never seen any of these in the states...

thanks

BTW, don't think the flat bar could go on later H1 D and after cause the case assy left and right will touch the tank when you turn the bar

As JP points out, there are 3 types of bars,

1, High "U.S." spec fitted across the entire range of H1's in the U.S.

2, Flat/Straight bars fitted to early H1's all drum braked models in Europe (and elsewhere?)

3, "Half" height bars fitted to all disc braked models braked in Europe (and elsewhere?)

My original Kawasaki flat bars are 25" wide, if they have been shortened, I did a good job, they have nicely chamfered ends. I got them in 1970, (H1) and they are going on my H2 build now! The good thing about the original Kawasaki bars is they crank backwards just out of the clamps, so you can make them as narrow as you like! Strangely enough, they are still wider than the bars on my 180HP ZX10R! I have the part no. here somewhere, if that would be any help, but I think they would be hard to find! Just get some 7/8ths tube, and bend them back, what, 15/20deg 1" out of the clamps, and you have a set! Cheers!

Check out drag bars on ebay. There are many listed. The one you want has the 5 1/2 in straight center x 7/8 OD ;)

Hi Mike. I have a H1e supplied to Aus in `74 with the high bars. I don`t like them as they are far too much like dirt bike bars and I find them ungainly at speed and in tight cornering, matter of taste I guess. I went for straightish bars sold as `drag bars`which I find perfect for this bike. If you get stuck you can have my standard ones which I`m willing to bet are what yours came with. I can`t see why they would have changed bars between Kiwiland and here. Steve.

Hi Steve, Thanks for the offer. I am waiting for a possible local source to get back to me. If that comes to nothing in the next while I'll PM you.

Ta, Mike
