Post subject:  Question- How to Restore Polished Aluminum Finish

Who has the best system to restore the original finish on polished aluminum H2 parts? Is this one good?

To me, the hardest part is getting the finish clean more than maintaining it once it looks nice. I used an 8 inch bench grinder with buffer wheels from Lowe's, compound, a lot of time, and a Dremel for the tight spots.

Many of the stock alum parts have clear coat on them. The first task is to remove the clear coat before any polishing can be done. Paint stripper or carb cleaner like Berrymans or Gunk will do it. Then it is a matter of degree to get what you are looking for.
