on the red 70 i see some people paint the decal on the tank and some use an actual decal , and i see some people paint the white decal in the front part all the way up to the seam in the front and then stop the black pin stripe a little short closer and some follow it all the way out to the seam , my question is which is the right way ? the ones that i see followed all the way out are restorations but i think it looks better that way .

One of the restorers will pipe up. The factory stripes were painted on, not sure where the black stopped.

Not that I'm a restorer, :o , but I did have a new '70 H1. The black is a plastic pinstripe, but the white is the actual candy base - the red went over it where necessary. Can't quite remember where it finished, but I am sure someone will chime in. Stripe decals will not conform to the tank shape - worth checking reproductiondecals site.

Yep, the strip is vinyl and i am sure that if you ask repro decals for the acurate info then you will get it . . and that will save me replying in full to this post and uploading pictures for you
