What is the proper routing of the oil tank breather tube?

Is it necessary to remove powder coating under the coil mounts to achieve a good ground?

On my 73 S2A I just routed the breather hose down along side the battery box. Just make sure it doesn't kink.
The Coils have a + & - terminals
