Seeing that there are a quite a few manufacturers of plates these days, who's do you prefer and why?

Vendor/mfgr
Year/model?
Stock or modified?
Correct out of the box, or requires trimming?
etc

Thanks!

Versah for friction plates; minor filling sometimes; have only used stock steels

Vesrah here, have used 2 washers to load the springs on a mildly ported engine.

Barnett with stock springs because they stand up to several abusive drag starts in a row without burning. They were annoying before the hydraulic clutch actuator though, since after each successive takeoff, the clutch lever got closer and closer to the handlebar, eventually making it impossible to fully disengage. They recover when they cool off. I guess they're pretty bullet-proof, since I have at least 30,000 miles and 33 years on them and they're still fine.

Larry at redline as he has never done me nothing but right and have used or is still using his products not just well got them from the supplier type thing. Theres only a few out there like Larry, Jess, and John at mid atlantic that can actualy say they have tested it or maybe i should buy the monkeyclaw stuff as it's cheaper there is no comparison. Larry has that one plate cut down instead of buying a set and damn I better cut it down crud. Just my opinion but after getting my crank back being rebuilt with the finest stuff avalible to anyone and done at an affordable rate by someone that has been doing them for years why would I go somewhere else.

That was a mouthful. I think I understood all but the crank rebuilding reference. Did you mean that Larry at Redline did the crank rebuild?

I agree on dealing with people you can trust. Now, who did your crank? I'm in the market to have a couple done, and know there are a couple of folks here that do them, and people are happy with their work. But it never hurts to ask. :)
