I am thinking about buying new rims. Reproduction Decals has a good price on DID rims but only lists the front rim. I contacted them and asked if they had a rear rim. They replied that the front and rear are the same rim.

I have both front and rear original rims for my S3. They have different ID codes stamped on the rims. I looked closely at the holes and the front rim is drilled slightly differently than the rear rim. That makes sense since the hub diameters are different from front to rear.

So what do I do? Buy the two rims listed as DID front rims and use one of them on the rear? Do I just force it together and let the spoke bend a little bit as I tighten it up? Has anyone done this with their S3?

I have laced up a couple H1 rear rims on the front, and didn't find any bending of the spokes.

My original rims are definitely drilled at slightly different angles. I emailed Reproduction Decals to ask if they had a rear wheel for the S3. They told me that the front and rear are the same. They sell one part number for both. I now assume that this is standard practice.

Any other thoughts on this? I am getting ready to buy the rims.
