I'll need replacement fork tubes (34mm) for my early H1.
Anyone familiar with the quality of Mid Atlantic's fork tubes? Or better to go with Jessbike's ones?

Regards,
Argo

I agree that you won't find a better guy than Jess. And John (Mid Atlantic) is of the same caliber. :-)

I recently purchased a set from JessBikes for 72 H2, 44013-032. The fork tube matches up in size to the original - 36mm OD, 22inch long and the quality seems to be the same as far as appearance, feel and weight.

On the site there seems to be only one selection for the fork tube meaning you may get what I got - size 36mm. You specified 34mm.
I would call first.

The experience with Jess will be quick and painless. He said he will refund any shipping overcharge. He refunded my account for $23.00  and I think I received the tubes the next couple of days.

Nevertheless, there is small difference in the tapering/flair out on the bottom end of the tube which goes into the outer tube– see below.

i got a set of later H1 tubes from mid atlantic and they are very good.
they have the same minor difference to the tube base as in the picture of jess tubes.
but assembled without issue and are working fine.
my .02 cents.
i dont think you can go wrong with either of them both great guys.
