I bought this H1 as a project in 2022. Then Hurricane Ian hit our town. Close to two years later I'm climbing back on board. I believe I'm the third one to be involved. Defiantly will be the one to make it smoke again. Here's some of the history on what one of the previous owner has done. It'd be nice to credit all those that put the effort into making it a runner. Motor is rebuilt. My expenses so far on the project..... Crank $600 for the rebuild and parts. New seal kit and gaskets $90.00 Wiseco .020 OS pistons-rings $365.00 Machine work on cylinders $180.00 Tires $160.00 NOS Stator for ignition $360.00 Rims laced with NOS spokes to hub $140 parts labour Body set and frame are powder coated and I have a set of decals for the tank + tail section. $80.00 Powder coating cost me $300. Will need to replace front fork tubes, $90.00 for a new set. Vendor told me I can have a new set for his cost. I can throw in whatever new other parts I had bought for the project. Clutch plate set, plugs, rubber bits, probably a couple hundred more in value. Tins are fine and do not need anything but the decals applied and then maybe a clear coat on them. Another item I failed to mention were the gauges that I had new faces made for and the clocks were rebuilt and that was $180 more. Pics attached from a couple of years ago. One showing the decal choice and a pic of the refurbished harness. 1974 H1 Mach III with a 1973 H1D motor as they had the better CDI system, just like the H2 750 used. Carbs are all totally cleaned and I forgot to mention, a new RH controls set for the handlebars and the LH one was refurbished and hand painted like new. New sheathing on the wiring and I forgot Brian H restored the main harness, that was $125 itself. I am taking a loss and giving up a project I had hoped to complete, but its got to go. Need funds for another deal fast, let me know. |

JBoz from the ZRXOA and myself. Happy day for both of us. Attachment: My H1-4 (1).jpg Of course my buddy just had to poke the bear. "My Brother had one of these! And i kicked his ass in a race from cypress and Winkler and Cypress Lake Dr. to Soutpointe Dr. .....before Cypress hit McGregor....On my RD with JR chambers ...I'll tell you about it sometime..We were flying!!!" Attachment: My H1 - 6 (1).jpg Yada yada. I had one way back when too. Looked like this one. Attachment: 1976-yamaha-rd400-motorcycles-in-midland-park-nj.jpg But the RD's never sounds as good as the triples. I really wanted a H2 but this one came along and well it's a triple!! |

Jim if you're looking at the green bike, those are stock RD400 wheels. |

Yes they are the stock RD400 wheels. I use to ride wheelies on that one through forth gear. Fun bike! |
