I have a 74 H2 750 that has very crappy painted items: frame, swing arm battery box, headlight bucked, brake caliper, triple trees etc. that I need to paint. I have searched the site and I see suggestions of powder coating, paint mixed with a flatting agent etc. My question is what was the original paint finish like Gloss, Satin, Low Sheen, matt. and are all the items painted black the same finish |

That chart is accurate, but there is a lot more plastic and different finishes on a '74 H2-B. The frames were painted in a non-2-pack basic enamel, which was gloss, I did my frame in 2-pack gloss black. I wouldn't do a frame in powder coat, due to earthing issues. I'd paint black steel parts in 2-pack and probably a good quality matte/semi-gloss spray-can for everything else. |
