I'm putting together a 72 H2 like the one I owned back in the 70's. Since finding an affordable one is near impossible, and I don't know of enough barns to look through, I'm building one up. I've got a pretty good start, hoping to do the build this winter into next year. One of the parts I found was a blue front fender, standard for the 72 H2. Separately I found the black bracket that mounts the fender to the forks. Both sellers said I was buying 72 H2 parts.

The bracket fits the forks correctly but the holes in the fender don't line up with the holes in the bracket. The bracket seems a little wide for the fender but the fender is very close in size to a 74 chrome fender I have. From what I can tell the blue front fender was only available on the 72 H2. The 73 S2 looks like the same blue but it had a chrome front fender. My question is, is there another black front fender bracket from another model that would fit the forks but not the fender?

Thanks,

Dave

Actually, you nailed it. I've been on the Kawatriple site a lot but there's a lot that I haven't seen. The pictures show that I have an S bracket, not an H2. Buyer beware, too many items are listed as H2 when they aren't, probably to charge a higher price. Still looking for the correct black bracket.

Thanks for finding that for me.

That's for sure! It's not even always to charge more... some guys just don't bother checking to see what they have, they're just reselling something they got from some other guy who told them something.

I may have found one, but just because a vendor takes your order doesn't always mean they have one in stock.

BTW, I have a used S front fender bracket for sale.

... and then in 2 days the vendor realizes they don't have any brackets and cancel my order. Why doesn't their system keep track of inventory, seems like something any basic system should handle?

Still looking for a black front fender bracket for a 72-73 H2.

If nobody comes through, I think I have one - not museum quality, but I think it's straight and functional.

I'm still looking. Do you have a picture?
