I just received my tank, side covers and tail back from paint. Was pretty excited to see how everything looked, so I did a little mock up. Engine is all vapor blasted. Frame and other parts are powder coated. I took a few pictures to see how it looked. About an hour after I took this picture, I moved the bike lift just a little and the bike fell over. I only had the tank for two days. Now the tank is back at the painter for the second paint job. What an expensive mistake!!!!

Heartbreaking. I like your style though - get over it..send it back out and get it fixed.

Glad to see a brown B .. they don't get enough love.

I had guys that did the same, virtually. Brand new paint job, they go riding, fall over, and it ain't new any more. Only redeeming factor, they weren't on roads or streets, they were at places like Laguna Seka, Daytona, Ontario, etc.

I feel for you, doing a great job on a restoration, then having something like that is just plain irritating, breaks your heart (and I have done that, too).

It appears you are doing a fantastic job on the restoration, It is going to look GREAT when it all comes together, don't let the small stuff get you upset.

I guess in the grand scheme of things, a little thing like this is just a small setback. Especially when you are doing a restoration on a 47 year old bike.

That's right, motorcycles tip over easily.

Are you going to begin using a different - possibly a larger, platform style of lift/table at some point, in light of this mishap?

It is a painful extra expense to damage a new paint job. I had my tail piece redone when I made a small chip in the paint installing the grab rail.
I also had to replace the decals. I'm just happy my painter did a great job repainting.
