Well, it actually came out better then I thought it would. I have to admit, Evaporust works as advertised. An impressive product for sure!

It looks good, but how did the pickup plate and screw heads get so gold?

Hi Everybody.
So I started on my front forks this week. I decided to do one at a time as opposed to doing both together. Neither fork was leaking but both had rusted oil seal washers and spring clips. They both actuated freely with no roughness but I noticed that neither seemed to have much, if any, oil dampening. So I disassembled and cleaned the first fork. The oil that came out of it was black and nasty. The assembly (picture attached) that came out of the lower unit is a mystery to me. I couldn't find anything in the manual that would indicate whether or not it is properly configured and I have no idea what the wear limits are. I cleaned it and reassembled everything with new oil seals, added 5.4 oz. of 10 wt. fork oil and the shock seems to work exactly as before with no significant oil dampening when I compress and release the top cylinder. Is that normal? I was expecting a slower return to full height.

Have you looked at both the Kaw shop manual and the "triples maintenance manual" on the resource site?

Thanks Jim,
From the resource site I can confirm that my cylinder assemblies are configured correctly. Not getting much rebound oil dampening when I actuate the shocks by hand but maybe that's just the way they're designed to be?
