OK guys I need some guidance please.
Here are two clutch rod seals. The one on the right is supposed to fit the later model ball bearing pusher, which it does but I have to install the seal backwards from the original seal installation when I disassembled the engine. Am I missing anything? Was the original seal incorrectly installed?

Making Progress:
I have a roller. The gauges, faceplate and handlebar controls were expertly done by Don Fulsang.
Engine assembly started:
Crank was done by Charlie @ Triple Cranks and the transmission was done by Mark @ R&D.

Sure wish I could figure out how to post higher resolution pics. The only ones that seem to work are on my lowest camera setting.

More progress.
Chromed exhaust arriving next week. I hope to be riding it next month. If so, it will be almost exactly 12 months since I started the project.

Here are a couple of pics of the completed project. The camera resolution does the bike no justice. It looks way better in real life. Next in my shop is my 72 H2 and after that will be a 73 S2A that I recently acquired. Thanks to Jim and everyone else on he board who helped me with this. Also thanks to:
Jess - Jess Bikes (new and reproduction parts)
Danny - Triple Stuff (Serviceable Parts)
Dana - WFO Custom Paint - Wow!
Paul - Fast by Gast (heads and Cylinders)
Mark - R&D Motorsports (Transmission)
Charlie Smith - Crankshaft rebuilt
Don Fulsang - Tach, Speedo and Handlebar switch switch restoration
And all the other folks out there that helped me along the way.

In shifting up, down, if the unit shifts good one direction, but misses shifts the other direction, it is the shifter stop pin not centered in the centered position.

The stock H and S series pins are a straight pin, and when it sits offset from machining at the factory, the shifting will "feel" Ok, until some miles are accrued.

One trick we used to do is substitute a stop pin from an F series engine. They have an offset adjustment in them. This offset allows the shtfter claw to be adjusted to set so it is equal distance either way.

Another way NOT ADVISED is to physically bend the stock H series straight pin, but Thad increases the possibility of breaking the pin boss on the lower case.
