Here's a photo of the new and old float valves. They have slightly different dimensions, but after measuring the depth of the float valve well in the carb it seems like everything will work out well. Another difference is that the new Viton tipped needles pin is not spring loaded, but solid.
The little cardboard cut out is my template for setting the floats at 25mm.

Small update. I should have had my reading glasses on when I ordered the valves. Included in my search for the 786 15005, it seems as though the ones I ordered were actually 786 15008. So that explains the small difference extra length. On the plus side, I can easily remove a couple millimeters from the end and still be good.
I ordered 3 of the 786 15005 and it took care of the problem.
