Several years back I put new tires on my H2B. The preference from the majority on here were to go with Bridgestone Battleax 45's. I put them on and they felt good and I like them but now are dry rotted and need to be replaced. I see them outta stock on one web site and see them listed on another. I haven't called the local dealer yet. What is the prevailing choice nowadays? These non-radial obsolete rim sizes seem to have fewer choices as the years continue to go by. So what are you guys running these days?

Update: Local dealer has Battleax BT45 100/90-19 front & 120/90-18 Rear discontinued. Was almost gonna be $390 for both.

I like BT45s a lot. I also like Avon AM26 Roadriders a lot. American Motorcycle Tire has the BT45 pair you posted for about $255 total. If you went with the Avons it's about $215 total.

I have been running Shinko's for years now, just my preference. 712 sets H rated, 740/741 V rated and the 230 Tourmaster's. About $90/$120 a set for the smaller tires and all have had excellent grip. It has been a good alternative for multiple bikes. They seem to wear decent too but I ride multiple bikes.

Good, I'm glad you didn't pay the local dealer price!

Interesting, John... I had no idea they had changed. Now for someone to test a set...

I'll look forward to your review... if your new build ever gets finished. I guess they'll be one better though, like the knobs that go up to 11.
