They are out of the bearings, these have been recommended from Norway, any thoughts?

The kits from Norway have a good reputation.

I'm going to try them, takes a little while to get them, will give me some time to get the engine cleaned up. Has anyone tried walnut shells to clean the center cases, I bought some a couple years ago to clean some carbs, best I remember, I wasn't impressed. I may power wash first and see what happens, they're not that bad, been wiping some of the grime off.

I tried walnut shells a while ago and I found that you have to blast with something more abrasive first (glass beads, etc.), then the shells are just to give the softer finish. Alone, on a dirty case like the one shown, they will disappoint and cause more work...

I used to blast with Urea, a plastic like medium. This was for small turbo-prop gearbox cases. Very clean, non abrasive (no dimensional changes to the item ), easy clean up. Did a host of H2 engine and frame parts back in the day with this.

I've been cleaning the grime off the cases with various brushes and brake cleaner, cleaning up fairly well, then I'm going to hit them with degreaser and a hot water pressure wash, I think I will be good, not going for the polished look. The next thing is the heads and cylinders, I have some real fine glass I'm going to try on them through my little portable blaster. I have a cabinet with glass beads but not sure I want to get that aggressive.
