Post subject: | H2 master cylinders |
I'm rebuilding two H2 master cylinders (calipers, too) and wonder what people think about the color. The sort of transparent black looks pretty awful, and I'm tempted to powdercoat them with 85% black. I'm no purist, but wonder what others think or have done. John |

John they were anodized black from the factory, they can be redone...... |

Duplicolor Brake caliper paint works very well and seems to be fairly close. Holds up well (not 100% but not bad) to brake fluid if you're quick with the wipe. |

use silicon fluid, it doesnt hurt the paint |

early H2s wrnt black they had a coloured clean coating much nicer finish ,other wise a satin black would be my choice much like the calipers |

Thanks, I have been reading that with interest. I have several, and if it doesn't work as well as I like, it could still be powdercoated. I can't remember how black they were when new, but I believe they were pretty opaque black. John |

Right John, they were black. Now most aren't, because of the sun-fading of the organic dye that was used. |
