I'll chime in on this because it's leaning towards paint.

Recently I've been using the Duplicolor high-heat engine ceramic enamel for just about everything. It's thick, strong, coats very well and so far extremely resistant to solvents. Not sure about dot-3 but I'm willing to bet if you wipe it off fast enough it won't affect the paint.
