Post subject:  H2C Oil Pump vs H2B Oil Pump

Does anyone know the difference between a H2C oil pump 16082-060 and the H2B oil pump 16082-053?

Is there a way to tell the difference? Like a part number on the pump?

Thanks,

Ed

Oil pumps are identified by the letter/number stamped on the cable pull baile (wheel). Those ID numbers match a specific pump to its regular Kawasaki part number, and engine series, or modified version of an existing part number. They usually run between one specific engine number to another specific engine number.

Thanks for the info H2RTuner. This one looks like a H2B-1

Yup, looks like it. Now, the only issue is to link that ident number to the actual specific part number and engine run "family (between what engine number, to what engine number. Shouldn't be too hard to do, some online sites that have factory parts info, have idents run from F to F, E to E numbers, etc.

What you might do is go to an online parts source, like possibly bikebandit, that uses factory Kawasaki parts numbers, and see if the engine families are listed for different items, like oil pumps. Sometimes, it is a pain having to backtrack to find the right info. It might be easy if they also use engine numbers to identify more parts than one for a series of items, like oil pumps, etc.

Someone here might have more info for you as well.

I thought that all the H2 4-output pumps were interchangeable.

Me too. I have an H1 oil pump on an H2 motor, I think the H2B and H2C pumps are interchangeable.

They are, same as the 3 hose pumps, but, that doesn't mean they all pump the same volumes, other factors.

To show the difference, one year at a Castrol 6 hour race, in the stock class, H2, the oil pump had to be retained, so, to get maximum run time without refilling the oil tank, we used an S1 oil pump, with the H2 baile. Couldn't tell the difference, except the bike went the whole distance on ONE tank of oil, and won the race.
