As I said, some will do it by adding shim spacers between the OUTSIDE of the cupped washers and frame, then, properly torque the swing arm pivot bolt to set the frame distance to the "stack", and, others will invent procedures as they go, to bolster their ways to do it. I have absolutely NO qualms about those that insist on doing it an alternate way. YES, RB, I am well aware that all production frames differ in engineering distanced for engine, and swing arm pivot areas, it is called parts production tolerances. EDIT: Rick, just so I am not making any errors, and/or assumptions in fully understanding your installation procedures, would you be so kind as to go over your steps to install the swing arm into a frame, please? Lets start with a bare frame, a swing arm that has just had brand new bushings installed in it, and go from there, to completion of installation. Thank you, sir. That would be a big help since mine seems overly tight as assembled by the manual. Totally agree that the welds in the frame are crap compared to other bike companies in that same time period. So do I just back off the locknut now until it free swings or should I add a shim to get the clearance between the frame and bushings? |

I'm up for open debate, the problem is that I have a house full of company for the next 10 days, but by all means we will discuss the pro's and cons about the swing arm build when they all leave
