Thanks for all the comments guys, rode it again yesterday - what a joy!

Here are a few pics that show details:

The paint was done by L, R Center on the E. Coast, the Candy Gold paint really sparkles in the sunlight...

The entire engine and carbs were vaporized by RestoCycle, [thanks Nils!] it remains "naked". The engine covers were polished...

Original fender, rim and caliper cleaned up so well that they were not refinished. Fork lowers were polished....

Beautiful bike and what was the problem with the oil pump?

Just not pumping enough oil or not enough pressure?

Are those stock pipes?

The pump was not pumping enough oil there were large gaps in the oil lines.
I have 160 miles on it now and all good.

The pipes are Delkevic re-pops, the quality and sound is very good and I am pleased with them.

Thanks Dave. Had it out last weekend to our annual vintage bike festival, there was not 1 other H2 or H1. It received a lot of attention and nearly everyone had a story about one "back in the day". One drunkard tried to tell me about how he had one and was doing wheelies at 145mph! [oh sure]

Back in the day I hated the brown bike. I have changed my mind as I am getting older. Your bike is beautiful and I would probably paint my 74 project brown now after seeing yours. Really nice job and great close up on the paint.

Ya know, brown [Candy Gold] would not have been my first choice either. But, I did want a stock '74 color for this bike and the other color for that year is Green.
My '74 H1 is Green, which I like very much, but did not want two green bikes in the garage. I bought the tank on ebay and was painted by LRC, their paint work is exceptional. This color really shines in the sunlight.
