Post subject:  World traveler H2B rebuild

So I thought I should post a build thread on my H2B I imported from New Zealand recently. This came from Japan originally (of course) to the US, Indianapolis bike, then my brother bought it in 1990 and shipped it to Auckland, New Zealand where he started the rebuild, full engine rebuild, frame paint and some parts, but then I believe he found there were no available parts and as he was, had another 300 years of other projects, so work on it stopped. He died April, 2016 so I bought the bike out of the estate and shipped it back to Indianapolis, IN USA.
I am rebuilding it to get it running right now, and will try to keep it out of the 'basket case' status by rebuilding a section at a time, mostly keep it together when possible, and ride it of course.

Have a question on the rear wheel spacers, the two pics show, the correct (?) spacer for the right side, next to the brake backing plate, seems to be too long, but it looks like the right one, any ideas?

Another pic, have dropped the front end by raising the fork tubes through the triple clamps and fitting clip ons above the top triple. Like to get the rake down a little more doing this.

Bought a used correct fuel petcock, the aftermarket ones are not vacuum operated. I rebuilt it, and de rusted the tank inside, it had light surface rust, I used a mixture of Krud Kutter and Naval jelly and added aluminium nails and fit two rubber corks to the filler and outlet necks and shook it around awhile. Rinsed it out with water then quickly washed that out and added WD40. Also fitted a new repro fuel cap.

The collar you are holding does indeed go next to the brake plate.

Thanks for the reply. In the two pics, I have the wheel shoved all the way to the left, and the pic of the right side and brake plate shows all the space I have. I'm a bit stumped as to what I have wrong. Also, the front and rear sprocket seem to line up well, I'm pretty sure the wheel is in the right place, but...?

Sorry to hear about your brother. I lost my brother 30 years ago. I still have his 65 Ford Falcon on my to do list. That bike is going to mean a lot to you when it is finished.
