Hi all

I'm at the stage with my 71, that I need to get a number plate sorted. I'd like a rectangular one with the letter at the bottom. Does this old style suit triples, what are are UK riders using?

Between the light bracket and rear mudguard / fender is there supposed to be a rubber damper? Pt no 35039-005.

Thanks all

Hi - and welcome to this truly great forum :)
I assume your -71'er is a H1A ? But I get no hits, when searching for 35039-005 in the H1-H1A Spare parts list.
Not even sure this is a Kawasaki OEM part nr. for a H1. Try looking here: http://www.kawatriple.com/subparts.htm

Maybe its for a W1: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Kawasaki-NOS-NEW-35039-005-Tail-Light-Shock-Damper-W1-W2-A1-A7-C2-F3-F4-1966-81-/321217305034

71 is the HIB, and the damper rubber for the H1B is a lot thinner than that 35039-005 part which is not a H1 part.

I cannot find a part number for that rubber damper for the HI, the bracket itself looks very much like the H2-A taillight/number plate bracket, on the H2 that bracket has 3 rubber gromets as the damper to attach it to the rear mudguard.
Is this your taillight

H1A is '71 model
H1B is '72 model

If that's the case then there's no damper where it attaches to the rear mudguard, it's 3 grommets like the H2.

Partzilla have the H1B as 1971

Hi all, thank you, I know it's not standard but went with a rubber damper. Just so I can mount a daft UK number plate. There a lot bigger than US plates. I read somewhere on an old parts fiche that the European bikes only the early ones have a different rear mudguard or fender, can't find much else out. Could have been a tighter diameter or a guard off a H1b.

Most "European" triples have different rear lamp brackets, that are either longer or more angled to clear the longer European fender . . . sorry, "Mudguard" . .
