I've always gone by what we did at the factory when I worked there, two tests, pressure and vacuum.

Pressure, 6.0 PSI, NO LEAKS< for 6 minutes

Vacuum, 6.0 in/hg, NO LEAKS, 6 minutes.

Of course, this is all 3 cylinders at once, as a unit, which is what you have done. Did you do BOTH tests?

I have not. Pressure only. I will do the vacuum test next. After I change the end seal. Thanks for the advice.

Looks like the outer seal is not that great, it should be replaced.

I didn't think it was the seal but rather the O-ring.

You may want to pull the seal, o-ring and collar. Get it very clean and dry and place the collar back on with Loctite 620 completely around the inside of the collar edge where it meets the shaft. Then replace the O-ring followed by a new seal.

Ah, it looked like the left seal. Yes, it does look like the O ring is the source of the leak.

I watched Ja-Moo's oil seal replacement Youtube video. And was thinking there was only the seal to replace. But looking on the resource page after seeing your guys' comments I see the collar and o-ring listed on the microfiche. Will I be able to replace those without splitting the cases as well (reuse the collar as mentioned)?

I have access to loctite 648 vs 620. Looking at the data sheets you think I'll be OK using 648 instead?

648/620
3900 psi/3800 psi (shear strength)
.006"/.008" (clearance)
355F/450F (temperature Resistance)
N/A/Reqd (activator)

Not needing an activator is a convenience thing. But I wonder if the temperature difference is a concern?
What do you guys think? Is 620 specified in a manual somewhere?
