I can't find a good pan so until them I had Leroy buy one of the reproduction seats from HVC Cycle. It was $517.00. It is a very nice looking seat but suckilly it doesn't fit. When the seat is set where it is supposed to be on the frame there is a good 1" gap between the seat and tank. I put the old pan side by side with the rear curve lined up and it was about 1" shorter in the front than the original. The bosses where the seat dampers would mount have a round rubber grommet riveted in(which can be drilled out and the correct rubbers installed)instead of the holes for the correct rubbers. I called HVC Cycle and the fellow I talked to was very nice and sent me a label to send it back with no problems. He said he has been selling these seats for 4 years and has never had a problem and wondered if the H1D and the KH500 had a different pan. I told him they were the same. The strap can be removed with two screws. The seat sucks but HVC Cycle has great customer service.

HA! Thats one of my seats! I had all the seats repopped in the U.K. about 10 Years ago, and back then there was no interest so I let it fall by the wayside, my production guy "Bob" still makes them on an on demand basis, they retail at $180 in the U.K. and Yes, 5 Years ago he did start supplying HV Cycle . .

That confirms what I have concluded about HVC. They rip everybody off. They want 200 bucks for a "rebuildable" RD crank.
