Sorry about the lack of updates on this project. It's been a busy, and at times crazy summer for me. So little progress has been made on this bike. However some progress has been made. Engine is apart and in its rebuilding phase. Charlie did my crank earlier this year. The trans and cases are going out soon (hopefully) to R&D for rebuild. Found almost all the missing pieces to complete the bike. And just a couple weeks ago, found a nice complete carb for a later H2 at a motorcycle salvage yard near me! Also found a couple early, I think H1 carbs too. Bought them all....$25 each!!! (Will sell the H1 carbs)

Right now I'm rebuilding and reassembling the front end of the bike. Curious if anyone knows if the rubber washers/seals/grommets/insulators/whatever that go above and below the headlight brackets and around the fork tubes are available anywhere? Kawasaki p/N's are 44045-041 and 44045-038. I think Kawasaki called I'd a gasket, but it looks more like an insulator to me!

Jess should have sets of them fairly cheap.

http://www.jessbikes.com is his site.

I don't see them on their website. I'll have to email them to see if they do have them. I would think this would be a repo'ed part......then again I've thought lots of stuff before!

In a pinch, you can use O rings.

So yet another question on this project.......I'm cleaning and inspecting my case halfs at the moment. Everything is looking real good! Just curious if I should take off the scavenger pumps and clean and inspect them. Any thoughts on this? And what exactly do they even do?

Leave them alone... can't get gaskets and it doesn't make any difference whether they work or not.

I may have a bunch here somewhere.
Good Lord those are dear aren't they?
I see set of 2 of the -041 rubbers selling for 40 bucks at ebay where a set of the other thicker ones are 13-25 bucks each.
If I can find you a set, Im sure I can do better than that.
I saw where Danny has some used ones at ebay that looked decent.

Then there's the other part of Dale's post. :P

I actually don't have any idea about their operation, since my '72 doesn't have them.

Jim @ Fast from the Past sells them...if these are what you're referring to. He refers to them as check valve gaskets
