Did the cases today, soda blast for degreasing followed by glass bead and walnut. Used direct pressure blasting with walnut to knock down the shine and dulled them more than I like. I may try another pass with fine glass bead at low psi to brighten them up some. But have had enough for today.

Awesome...!!

I have a story about that paint scheme: I did a quicky refurb on a '76 KH250 and got a set of RB's decals to finish it off. Now the 250 decals are different from the 400 or 500 and somehow I received 400 decals (no white stripe). I wasn't bothered by that so proceeded to go to paint. The painter who is a bit of a detail nut called me and asked if I wanted a bit of kerning done between the "A"s and the "W" ...to tighten it up a bit and make it look better. I agreed not really worrying too much about it. Fast forward 6 months and the jolly old Limey himself walks through my garage. He comments ion the nice paint and asks whose decals I used. "Yours" , I said. To which he replied: "no way, the letters are too tight together". We are talking 1/16" here folks.

Gotta get up real early to hoodwink that guy.

Thats going to be one of the nicest restored KH 500 around, unless someone in the UK went over the top also. That level of restoration that your doing is usually only seen on a H2 and early H1. Nice to see that on the unique and special KH 500.
