Do your best and take a shot  The only big issue that I can think of is that the date codes on the rims are incorrect, the front wheel was missing and the rear wheel rotten, and we COULD have put the correct date codes back on, but the fact that it is not totally perfect is reflected in the price (around $17,500) which you may wince at, but it is $5,000 cheaper than most "fully restored" '69s are selling for in the shops here . . . the only difference is that mine is built with a passion and experience

A few people(me included)would have thought restoring that motorcycle would have been almost impossible. It is beautiful! It gives me hope that mine will be a lot easier.

Still think that bike should have a low ign cover....................!? (I know it's too obvious for R.B., but I am confused, (again!))

All bikes before October 1969 (we are including the first 2,500 Grey bikes here as well) were fitted with the low covers, the HT leads were so close to the various metal components in that area that it was found that the HT leads leaked to the metal and caused constant misfires, for that reason all the H1's were recalled to have the high style of oil pump cover fitted. Some owners never bothered with the recall which is why the early bikes are so miss matched between what is and what is not fitted with which cover ;)

Too bad there is not a book on how to restore your Kawasaki triple . Not the mechanical part, you can get that out o a shop manual. Things like the finishes, details, tricks of the trade, Proper assembly, etc.
