They were taped together with yellowed masking tape labled "S**T" HA!
That's what made me wonder about the springs. They are a natural color, and don't seem to be any kind of special.
I do however have to eat my wheaties to operate the clutch with these springs. New cable with by-the-book adjustments helped only marginally. 6-spline actuator with un-cracked nylon race helped slightly also. I'd like to get a pull scale and confirm that the clutch feels around 35-40lbs pull.
