If you have NEW pipes chrome work on pipes
Is reasonable
Doesn't need repair work or chancing oil contamination
Of the chrome tanks!
Plus anyone will do them if the haven't run before
Not to mention value retention and looks

Depends what you call reasonable - paid $550 for a great set of pipes, got quotes of $600 plus to chrome them, just not worth it to me!

Titanium nitride sounds good, but what about gold-passivate zinc - Just like your C.D.I. boxes, and cheap!! Image

I would have to agree with. For that money you are getting into stainless steel territory.

Titanium Nitride :)

I actually checked into this, since I had the fork tubes done on the hybrid. The cost makes chrome look cheap.

not only that, the Ti-Ni only turns out as "shiny" as what's beneath, so they would have to be at the very least nickeled and polished first. You're looking at about $1500.00-$2000.00 for a set of pipes.

but man would that look cool or what?

Wow, that's an early set, Rod. I didn't realize how long ago you got those, but they look very nice. I will be very interested in how the zinc holds up on the head pipes.

Gold pipes, are you trying to get your bike into a rap video? Next you'll have spinners on the wheels and white tuck and roll seat covers. :D
