Hi all.

recently removed my S3 400 fuel tank only to find it was zip-tied to the frame. this cannot be a factory solution. can anybody link me to the proper part and method of securing the tank to the frame?

i found some rubber straps, but they were noted as 500 h1 straps, new to this triple stuff and dont know if my bike uses the same gizmo as the 500

thanks.

The front of the tank fits over grommets just behind the steering stem.
The rear snaps into a grommet pad under the back of the tank.... 92075-214

As mraxl described. The tank fits into the front mounts with proper dampers so it is tight up front and can only pivot about the front mounts. Then the rear rests on another damper. With the seat closed it is secured.

I suspect that your bike is missing some of the dampers and has been rigged in place.

right on. I've got the pivot mounts near the stem and the landing pad that the back portion of the tank rests on. I was thinking that something other than the seat would secure the aft section of the tank to that resting pad area.

There should be a projection sticking out the tank bottom that snaps into a slot on the rear pad. That secures the rear without any strap needed.
