Beautiful story and bike! I to owned a71 500 when I was 16 years old ,it was my first street bike I sold it to get my 1973 gold H2 . I still have the H2 but always wanted another 71 500 .......my friends and I went to the antique bike show in June at Rhinebeck Fair grounds and guess what I came across ...a1971 500 ! I talked to the owner and he had been offered $1500.00 and turned it down ...I made him an offer of $2500.00 and he delivered it to me last weekend ....I'm thrilled ! It is missing the stock air box and has Dencos on it but will be restored to stock .if it comes close to yours I'll be very happy .the bike is rusty and a little rough but restorable for sure I've done much worse ! Can't wait to get started will post some pics soon . Thanks !

Your bikes are truly exceptional. May I ask who you use for zinc plating and how you prep the hardware you send out? Thanks

Sorry about the delay, I do a mild sand blast then I soak the hardware in a mild acid for 2 minutes then rinse with water then dry it off ASAP and send it out .
I use TFC Plating in Portland Oregon.
