Post subject:  RD 350 engine

I have an older friend who has owned a `73 RD 350 since new . He is retired and on a limited income but i'm helping him fund a motor, his threw a rod and destroyed left piston.. after he let a former friend,( who is not taking ownership of destroying the engine hence the "former") ride it(mistake which will never happen again)the former friend owns a CR 250 , he figured a 40 year old bone stock RD could handle redline through all gears... not , so he needs an engine complete and able to run would be ideal, but we'll take whats available, thanks.

Of course a 40 years old Rd should go near the red line, do it as soon as I can on all my bikes.
BTW, excepted if the crankcases are totally destroyed you need new rods, a crankshaft rebuilt and at least an other barrel, new pistons rings, rebore.

thanks , i realize what we need to rebuild, hoping to find an engine running complete to drop in frame for less than cost of rebuild. Did you see the part about limited income? thanks for the input though
