Looks like a TD2 front wheel. Funny it's on such a roachy stock bike, lol. That is an expensive piece of kit--buy the wheel, get the bike free!

No way !! those huge front drums were originally designed for the 66'-68' 250 V4 works racers. They say it worked remarkably Well

The works bike brakes were made from more exotic materials (magnesium??)

Unfortunatly my TD2 came in the "kit" form :oops:

It was common practice for Yamaha to hand down the best parts from an "obsolete" machine to the next generation bike. There's a high likelihood that the front wheel on your "kit" bike launched Bill Ivy over Ballaugh Bridge and sailed Phil Read down Bray Hill at some point. SELL IT? ?!!--lol

it appears to be missing a few spokes ,
but i see no vacant holes in the rim .
was that common ?

Interesting observation..don't know really but it appears to be commonplace.
