There is "an electric motor" and cable system on the exhaust power valve on the RZ350. EVERY time you turn the key on it cycles and turns the valve. There is a lot of drain on the battery.Brother put a bigger battery in his RZ and it helped solve THAT problem. Not sure if that is the same problem you are having. But something to keep in mind.

Thanks for the replies!

The new battery got at least part of the electric working. Lights front and back, instrument panel, horn. YPVS motor did not run.

Put some new gas in the tank and tried to start the bike but nothing. On two occasions the YPVS motor suddenly started to run endlessly.

Spark on the plugs at least. Both carbs overflow. YPVS motor is still dead when turning on the ignition. Think I've had enough of this bike for the time being.

you need a PV controller probably. or servo. you can set PV's open and disconnect servo, and at least get running.

Seems like the controller is broken yes. Left cylinder valve pulley didn't have the bolt for it. Seller claims engine is rebuilt. :eh:

Decided to give this bike another go.

The carburetors on it are stamped "364 E1" and "313 E1". The 364 seems to be from a 70s Yamaha enduro, MX250 or something similar? The 313 I'm not really sure.

Carburetor 313 E1 could be from a 1972 DT2MX or RT2MX.

YPVS servo runs when connected directly to the battery. Service manual also states to check "potentiometer resistance" which I have yet to do.

I have tried to operate the valves by hand but it was quite hard, is it possible they have seized?
