Thanks
It looks a bit dark to me but it is over oiling too. I have to sit down and work on the cable adjuster a bit more to get the pump cable a bit longer so it is aligned with the marks. Then I will do another run. Started on 2nd kick cold this morning. Enricheners off after about 10 seconds and it idles at 1500 pretty as you please...

I had some interference with the clutch arm as well with 32mm flat slides. Every time the arm moved it twisted the carb and was putting stress on the manifold. Not sure what your arm is hitting on the bottom of the carb but on this one it was the drain bolt head. I "machined" the head down to half it's thickness and it cleared.

I see you have some Spec II pieces. Gary's fun isn't he. ;)

Gettin closer:
Resynched the carburetors this morning and checked that off the OCD checklist...
Turned airscrews in to 1.0 .
Ambient temp 70 deg F. Winds calm relative humidity 60%.
Now it is linear.
Roll ons at 3500 in 6th yielded a smooth acceleration to 6000 and a seamless transition to the powerband.
Wheeles in 1st and 2nd abound if you gas it up as the tach passes 6000...

My goody box from Toomey Racing arrived yesterday. The orings in the ass end between the chambers and can had deteriorated and were seeping. Flange cleaned and new orings installed.

Repacked the silencers courtesy of M.P.Iron Brady. He gave me a sheet of packing with aluminium foil bonded to it. I wrapped it tight and put aluminium tape over it and then wrapped it with safety wire.

Tim when I used it I removed the aluminium backing. Wonder if that makes a difference?

Most fiberglass muffler packing is simply, good grade insulation for houses, appliances, other stuff, and, the better stuff has foil backing, helps keep the fibers in place longer. Wrap fairly tight, not loose. I usually masking tape the foil to hold the 'glass in place. The fiberglass helps dampen harmonics in the mufflers, which helps performance somewhat. When we wrap chambers to help defer heat, the wrap also helps to dampen harmonics in the pipe itself.
