Hey Jim,

The engine cases went back together pretty well.

Nice. It looks familiar alright. Does the crank spin freely? I had that gasket/no-gasket confusion that slowed me down a little.

Yes, everything fit back nice and the crankshaft is free. This engine did not have a gasket between the cases.

I doubt I have it running before my big event next week but that will give me something to look forward to after sitting around the house for a few weeks.

Failed the leak test. I'd damaged the stator side crank seal during it's installation. I'd chamfered the case as Ayor's crank seal replacement video shows for a triple but I had to rechamfer it to a much more gradual angle to get the seal to start. Clutch side went in easy but the stator side was a pain. Why is that seal such a pain to get started? The intake manifold surface also leaked but a little threebond took care of that.

Finally got it pass the leak test.

Nice work, John, but with the stock port timing I don't think you need to bother installing any seals.

My son Ben and I were stopped at the overlook when you and Aylor took off on your scoots and were whipping their A$$es. Ben laughed and said you guys reminded him of Dumb and Dumber :D :P

I was really wanting to hear the engine run before tomorrow, but the primary coil winding is open  so it will have to wait until I get healed up from the event tomorrow. I did have a new seat cover to put on so I got that done. I found the tool kit under the seat. Looks like the kit had never been opened.

I found out I'm better at putting on seat covers than putting in crankshaft seals ;)
